Positive thinking is a good thing in a way that it takes away the negative effects that can accrue due to negative thinking. While positive is recommended, but positive thinking alone, can be a skin deep exercise. Therefore positive thinking will work magic only if it is done in a state of meditativeness There is no dearth of positive thinking advocates and in my personal interactions with them I have discovered that more often than not, positive thinking alone or some fragmented visualizations do not lead to results
So, where is the missing link in Visualization?
Whether in visualization or in prayer, there is one secret that ancient traditions like Shamanism have known that they come true when a person is in a state of “Altered consciousness” or so as to say is in a higher plane of consciousness. Some of the practices like Shaman Drum circles help the practitioners reach that state of altered consciousness Visualization meditations can also be used for various purposes including enriching ones goals and dreams (while I have to state that is the primal goal of meditations). However, based on the above commentary visualization meditation work the best when done in few different section or phases where the visualization can be the penultimate phase of the meditation. Eg) if a meditation has 4 phases, then the first two can be used to reach a state of altered consciousness while the 3rd phase can visualization followed by last where of silent sitting The other important point to remember in a visualization meditation is that the visualization should have very clear and detailed account of visualizations. It tethers with the principles of magic in that sense as the magicians would often define as the postulate, hence in a visualization the devil lies in the detail. I am sorry, I mean the Angel lies in the details.
